- Mr. William Ng has been a lawyer of the High Court of Hong Kong for over 20 years. On August 18, 2022, he became one of the lawyers who acquired the first batch of Guangdong Greater Bay Area Lawyer license ("the License"), only with around 200 Licenses granted in the whole Mainland China till now. Within a very short period of practice, he has been interviewed and reported by the Publicity Department of Shenzhen Municipal Committee of the CPC, Xinhua News Agency, the Authority of Qianhai, and more than 10 state-owned media. He has also been supported by the Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of the GBA, and the Development and Reform Bureau of Longhua District Shenzhen to hold special lectures for a number of high-tech enterprises in Shenzhen to share the risks faced by the enterprises going global and solutions.
- He was the Legal Director at Alibaba Group (level P9, from November 2015 to November 2020) , where he led the team responsible for corporate governance layout of Alibaba's overseas subsidiaries in dozens of countries and assisted business development and oversaw the listing compliance of several of its Hong Kong-listed companies, and he was appointed as director, alternate director and company secretary of many of the group's overseas subsidiaries.
- For near seven years (From June 2007 to Jan 2014) , he was the Head of Legal and Company Secretary of Yue Yuen Industrial Group, a former Hong Kong blue-chip which was a global leader in the manufacture of athletic/outdoor and casual footwear with a diversified portfolio of brand customers and production sites; he was also the Head of Legal and Company Secretary of Pou Sheng International (Holdings) Ltd, a listed subsidiary of Yue Yuen and a famous sportwear retailer in Mainland China. He also had good experience in traditional energy and new energy industries.
- As a lawyer of the High Court of Hong Kong since 2001, he has been deeply involved in a variety of overseas projects as a legal executive of large multinational companies, including leading overseas acquisitions of over US$1 billion, syndicated loans of hundreds of millions in dollars, a variety of overseas acquisitions, litigation and business structuring projects in various countries. He has also worked on solutions for foreign industry entry restrictions that require a combination of legal and abundant business experience.
- During his more than ten years as a legal management in various multinational companies, Mr. William Ng led resolutions of various large- scale and cross-border disputes.
- Shortly after being licensed as a GBA Lawyer, he was admitted as the Leading International Lawyer of Shenzhen by the Shenzhen Lawyers Association.
- Invited by the Department of Justice of Guangdong Province to be a mediator with Hong Kong or Macao background of Guangdong Higher People's Court.
- He is a member of the Hong Kong Institute of Directors and the Hong Kong Independent Non-Executive Director Association; thus, he has a good knowledge of various situations and resources in Hong Kong and overseas and he is able to access them.
- Mr. Ng has been a legal management in multinational companies for more than a decade while he visited the major cities in China and lived in Shenzhen for a few years. Compared with traditional lawyers in common law, he is more familiar with the culture and system in the mainland and he is able to coordinate mainland and overseas projects. Mr. Ng firmly believes that sophisticated legal services should not be over-theoretical. According to his hundreds of business trips to Europe, the Americas, Southeast Asia, Central Asia, and India, he believes that the primacy of going global is knowing local laws and cultures. Bilateral and kind channels of communication should be actively built and any legal works should be down-to-earth and aimed at escorting enterprises and businesses during their development.
